Medicine in WWII
Medicines and vaccines were becoming more and more popular during WWII, and they were becoming stronger and more effective. After World War II began, the federal government started to support research for different medicines to protect the soldiers at war. The research aimed to fight disease, exposure, and fatigue. These discoveries would lessen the amount of soldiers lost from sickness and injuries. However, even though soldiers were provided health care during war, civilian national health care still did not exist.

Concentration Camps
In Nazi Germany between 1933-1945 concentration camps were used to confine people. They put people who were against the Nazi party into these camps. The people in the concentration camps suffered from rough conditions. Camps across Germany were established from the abundance of people they found to be enemies. Eventually, they had captured so many people they had to keep expanding east. They continued to build these labor camps and killed as many people the viewed as “the enemy” as possible.

German Torpedo Boats
German torpedo boats during WWII were based on boats that they used to fight during WWI. The boats were small and armed with artillery. The boats in WWI were focused on torpedo attacks; however, they needed to find a different way to attack, because torpedo attacks were no longer possible. These torpedo boats were used for several different things such as for escort duty, mine laying, surface patrols, and U-boat training. Very few of these boats survived the war. The boats that did survive were sent to navies and used up until the 1950’s.
